Amy - Traditionally, the wedding band is worn closest to the hand and the engagement ring is worn on the outside of the ring finger. This is supposedly because the wedding ring is the "closer to the heart" because it represents the marital bond. If the ring is a bridal set that wraps around the engagement ring, the placement is less obvious, and really it is up to the personal preference of the bride and how she prefers to wear her rings.

I'm searching for info regarding the proper placement of both the engagement ring and wedding band. Which one is to be worn on the outside of the ring finger and why?
