Tim - A marriage must be officially dissolved before another can be performed. You will need to present appropriate paperwork for the divorce in order to be legally married anywhere, and yes, they will check. If you falsify information, the marriage will not be legal and you could face criminal charges.

Hello we are from BC Canada. My fiance is in the process of getting a divorce but her divorce isn't finalized yet. We want to get married right away and don't want to wait till her marriage is officially anulled. Can we still get a marriage license in Nevada and get married anyways in Vegas? Do you have a way of checking marriage registry's in Canada?

Lynn - You need to check with your country's marriage registry office to ensure you fulfill all the requirements for your ceremony to be legal in Canada. Best wishes!

Rebecca - That depends on the laws of your country; contact your marriage registry office for details on the requirements for your Las Vegas wedding to be recognized as legal in Australia. Best wishes!

Hi We plan on going to Vegas to have an Elvis wedding, I know hotels can help with this which we will set up through the travel agent. I'm not too worried about the small details as I will sort all of that out on arrival. We're also coming over from Australia and what I'm most worried about is the paper work. Also I was informed if we are to marry in Vegas we must have a civil ceremony in Australia as well?

Hi Tracy,

Unfortunately we are on online journalism site and unable to provide you with cost breakdowns and wedding planning consultation. I would suggest you discuss your plans with a wedding consultant from the Las Vegas area who has experience with the type of wedding you are considering. Many hotels and chapels do offer comprehensive planning services as well as live web cams so 'guests' elsewhere can view the ceremony. Best of luck!

Hi, please help! My partner and I are coming over from Australia in November this year and plan on getting married in Las Vegas. What we need help with includes: Dress/Tuxedo hire Makeup We would like an outside wedding but would like family to be able to see it at home live if possible? What paper work do we need to bring along with us and how much notice do you need? There was an arch of fire or something of that name that we are both interested in do you have any information on this. Lastly what are we looking at as a total cost, we will not need a reception so to speak as there will only be the two of us (we will require a witness of course). We would like photos, dvd, flowers etc. Can you help us?
