Amanda - Ten years old is really too old to be a flower girl; a junior bridesmaid role would really be more appropriate. You don't actually have to have a flower girl if you don't have a young girl who can serve in that role, but I wouldn't recommend putting a young boy in that role either. He would very quickly realize it's a "girl's" position and it could be very awkward.

Chris - It's unusual that only one girl would have been asked when the couple knows they are twins. While it is up to them to make the final decision, I'd suggest you tactfully ask why only one girl was asked to be included, and express your concerns. With the girls that young, having one left out could create problems on the wedding day as the other wants to be in the spotlight too. Best wishes!

My fiance and I were discussing young girls in either of our families that could take the roll of being a flower girl, and we only have one option: my youngest niece who (i believe) will be 10 by the time our wedding day rolls around... Is that too old, or can we have a substitue? I have two younger nephews that can fit the younger rolls....

I have twin girls who will be 3.5 next May. Only one has been asked to be in the wedding as a flower girl. The girls are very close and like to be together, is it rude of us to ask our cousin to consider having both girls in the wedding. My husband is also the Best Man. I think it make things go more smoothly if the girls can be together. We live out of town and don't see my husbands family that much.

Erika - A girl of the appropriate age can be a flower girl for as many weddings as she's asked to be in until she is really too old for the role. Different dresses, different guest lists, and different ceremonies will certainly make each event seem like a fun new occasion for her. Plus, if she's in more than one wedding, she will know what to expect more and may be more comfortable in the role.

I am thinking to marry next year. I've alredy tell everybody in my familly BUT my brother in law's woman wants to have my daughter as her flower girl. She knew that my daughter was going to be my flower girl. My question is how many times a girl could be a flower girl?
