You Wanted a Video of the Wedding Ceremony?
From LoveToKnow Weddings
Small Wedding, Informal Video
When we planned our very small wedding, we considered getting a videographer, but decided it was overkill for the intimate ceremony we were planning. With only 28 guests invited, we determined that a wedding video was an expense we could spare. Instead, we decided to hand our small video camera to a couple of our friends (who were not in the wedding) and ask them to shoot some video so we could have something to commemorate our special day.
Our Ceremony
The wedding ceremony went beautifully, with only minor hitches. Yes, the minister forgot the candle lighting ceremony and my veil and headpiece fell off when we kissed, but all in all, it went smoothly. As we greeted our guests, several told us that dolphins had been leaping in the water behind our ocean view altar, making the occasion even more perfect.
Video of What?
Our guests got their brunches, champagne was opened and the reception began… As we circulated, one friend we had entrusted with the video camera said, "Hey, should I start shooting some video soon?" They had not taken any of the ceremony, not realizing that might be an important part of the day to document…
So, my advice is if you really want video of your special day, hire a professional.
