A favorite wedding cake accessory is the wedding cake top, but this isn’t your mother’s cake top! In addition to finding a traditional bride and groom wedding cake accessory, you’ll also find those that are a little less traditional. Now you can purchase cake tops that are more whimsical or reflect a hobby or interest.

Wedding Cake Flowers

More and more couples are choosing to forgo the traditional wedding cake accessory in exchange for a bouquet or cascade of flowers. Flowers can be real or silk and give the cake a colorful yet elegant touch. Decorate with the colors of the season. If it’s fall, use orange or gold flowers. You won’t only need wedding cake accessories to adorn the cake, you’ll also need some to help serve the cake. Don’t forget to purchase a knife and spatula to cut the cake. Choose one that’s decorative and inscribe the name and your wedding date. You might also consider purchasing an air tight wedding cake box so you can place the top tier in your freezer in anticipation of your first anniversary. For those guests who will be taking a piece of cake home with them, consider giving out small cardboard boxes created especially for this purpose. Have your names and wedding dates embossed on the outside, or don’t have any lettering at all. Your guests are sure to appreciate the convenience.
