Fiji Honeymoon
From LoveToKnow Weddings
If visions of warm sand and crystal clear waters fill your head, then a Fiji honeymoon might just be perfect for you and your sweetie. Beginning your new life in paradise sounds good, right? Fiji has beautiful islands and tropical waters just waiting for you!
Fiji Information
Before you decide on a Fiji honeymoon, you probably want a little background information.
Weather
Does it ever rain in Fiji? Yes, the rainy months are typically from November to April, but much of this rain is localized showers that are brief. However, the mountain areas of Fiji do tend to experience more amounts of rainfall.
Nobody wants to hear the words cyclones, but virtually anywhere in the tropics can experience one of these storms. The two most common months for cyclones in the Fifi islands are January and February. While there really isn't a winter season, the temperature in the winter months does drop at times, mainly due to excessive cool winds at certain times. Still, the climate remains comfortable year round.
Money
Fiji's money basically consists of notes and coins. Any monies under two dollars are counted in coins, with increments between one cent and fifty cents. For help in determining money conversions, click here.
Airports and Rental Cars
There are two international airports at Fiji, and they are Nadi, which is the main international airport, and Nausori. You can also check out the airport Websites for rental car information, or access rental agencies directly.
What To Pack
Fiji's mild climate calls for casual attire, including shorts, t-shirts, cotton slacks, and sundresses. It's always a good idea to take a jacket, however, for cool, nightly strolls on the beach.
The Islands
With 300 islands in Fiji's area, you might think that choosing a Fiji honeymoon site might be difficult. However, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu make up 85% of the land, and only approximately 100 islands are actually occupied.
The Natives
Fiji's people are comprised of approximately 50% Fijians, 47% Indians, and the remaining 3% are people of South Pacific, European, or Chinese descent. The natives of Fiji are friendly and happy, and they don't expect tips. In fact, tipping is generally discouraged.

- Vatulele Island
- Qamea Resort and Spa
- Namale Island
