Elegant Wedding Favor
From LoveToKnow Weddings
Choosing an elegant wedding favor is a great way to add a touch of class to your ceremony and reception.
On the Tables
One of the spots to leave favors for your guests to take with them is on the table. Elegant favors on the tables are also one of the quickest ways to add an air of sophistication. Your guests will thank you for leaving them something special at their places.
If you're serving a dinner at your reception rather than finger foods and snacks, try adding blown glass salt and pepper shakers in your wedding colors. They were featured in In Style magazine and are sure to inspire gasps of delight when your guests observe the craftsmanship.
Place card holders are always a classy touch, too. Check out these pewter antique chair place card holders.
Remembering the Date
In some ways, this can tie into the table settings. You can leave place cards with seed packets attached at each place, giving your guests plants that blossom over time just as your love did and will continue to do. Your guests will always think of you and your beautiful ceremony when they walk outside and see the lovely flowers or greenery you presented to them on your wedding day.
Something else to consider are save the date cards or magnets. You send them out six months to a year ahead of time so your guests will remember not to schedule any travel plans on your wedding date.
Stick to Your Theme with an Elegant Wedding Favor
- Fairy tale theme? You'll love the Cinderella glass slippers and the Frog Prince Glycerin Soap available at Favors by Serendipity.
- Autumn wedding? Stick with the theme and the probable color scheme by choosing the "Autumn Elegance" wedding cake candle or Autumn Bookmarks. You could also go for the "Fall in Love" Leaf Soap Petals.
- Wine has an innate elegance about it, conjuring up images of Old Italy, jazz music, and relaxing nights in a bubble bath surrounded by candles. If wine is a big part of your wedding ceremony (wine tasting, anyone?), your favors can reflect that. There are the Allure Glass Grapes Place Card Holders, the "It's About Time" Champagne Bucket Timer, or the set of two champagne flutes. You probably won't want to leave them out for all your guests unless your wedding is fairly intimate, but for family members or the head table, or even just the couple, they're a beautiful, sophisticated touch.
Snacks to Take Home
Your guests may eat their fill at the reception, but they'll be getting hungry later, too. Send them on their way with a few scrumptious treats. How about:
- Tuxedo and Wedding Dress Cookies? If your guests don't want to eat them right away, don't worry—they're good for six months.
- Another type of cookie is the Wedding Cake Cookie that Trista and Ryan chose for their wedding. You can't go wrong with vanilla sugar cookies.
- Something unexpected is the selection of Wedding Berries at Bella Regalo. They're elegant strawberries dipped in chocolate to look like wedding dresses and tuxes.
Something Extra
Some people throw birdseed. Some throw rice. Others…well, they go for fireworks and sparklers. You can have your guests wave you off with some of those sparklers (you may have seen them in Elegant Bride). It's a unique sendoff that looks especially elegant in the pictures. Bonus: Less to clean up.
Have a Look Around Online
- Bella Regalo has a little of everything, down to Trista and Ryan's favorites. Choose from elegant wedding favor snacks, soaps, exquisite boxes, place cards, sachets, measuring spoons, and more.
- Favors by Serendipity offers plants, a unique "tears of joy" hanky, sachets, candles, ornaments, and more to give your wedding the touch of class you desire.
- Favors by Lisa has bells, vases, napkin rings, coasters, and even sparklers.
- My Wedding Favors has candle sets, bottle openers, candles, coasters, and more.
When it comes to elegant wedding favors, traditional may come to mind, but try to be creative, too. Using sparklers, for example, isn't a "traditional" wedding idea, but it does look elegant and it does make your wedding memorable. Choosing things to send home with your guests, whether in the form of a place card holder or a fancy cookie, will keep them talking for much longer than typical wedding favors.
