Make Your Own Wedding Invitations
One of the simplest ways to save some money and still have great discount wedding invitations is to create your own. You don't have to be a great artist or even really creative to come up with some wonderful invitations.
Computer Generated Invitations
There are simple computer programs that you use to create invitations of all types, and these can include wedding invitations as well. You can purchase card stock paper in a variety of colors, and you don't even have to have a special program to create a beautiful card. Play with the word processing program on your computer, changing font styles, size, and colors until you find something you like. Once you've created the card you like, you can print the copies yourself or have them printed at a local print shop.
Handmade Invitations
Obviously, if you are inviting several hundred guests, this may not be a feasible option unless you enlist the help of several others, but creating a handmade wedding invitation can add a personal touch to your wedding celebration. Look for items you already have on hand, such as acorns, small pinecones, leaves, berries, shells, ribbons, etc. Either computer generate or hand write the wording on card stock paper, and decorate with whatever you have handy.
Clip Art
With so many wonderful clip art sites on the Internet, you can find virtually any type of picture you need, and some of them may even be free! You can add clip art designs to your discount wedding invitations, create the card you like the best, then take it to a local print shop and order as many copies as you need. How easy is that?
Alternate Invitations
Don’t overlook the unusual. Instead of sending a traditional, discount wedding invitation, look for other alternatives. You can make CDs with your wedding music included, and have the invitation printed on the CD cover. You can use a photo of you and your fiancée and incorporate it into an invitation. A local print or photo shop can help you with this option.
