Wedding decorations are important for setting the day's tone or theme. Without props and adornments, there's nothing to set your event apart from other parties. Since weddings are so special, you want your decorations to reflect he celebratory mood of the day.
Houses of Worship
Most houses of worship will not provide any wedding decorations. If you will want ribbons marking the aisles, altar flowers and a colored runner, you will have to make these arrangements yourself. Most of these decorations can be purchased or rented from a party store and florist.
The Wedding Car
Many bridal parties like to surprise the Happy Couple with decorating the car used to whisk them off on their honeymoon. These decorations add a touch of whimsy, encouraging other cars on the road to offer good wishes to the newlyweds.
Wedding Decorations for Reception
Reception venues don't always handle the wedding decorations. With the exception of linens and china, it's up to the bride and groom to provide their own flowers, balloons, confetti and bows. When booking a reception venue, be sure to inquire about decorations.
Many general purpose rooms have specific cods and laws to follow. For instance, you might not be able to hang crepe paper or balloons from lights or sprinklers. Many venues won't allow the use of nails, screws or push pins. If you'll be doing your own decorating, ask the reception hall manager about the rules regarding wedding reception decorations.
