Did you decorate the walls of your reception location? Many couples plan really lovely decorations such as the linens, centerpieces, and so forth, but they can look lost in a large room with bare walls. Of course, some reception facilities have very lovely neutral decorations already on the walls that can work for weddings, but there are a lot of things you can try to spruce up and personlize the space.

*Wreaths, grain sheeves, wall bouquets
*Paintings, prints, pictures of the couple
*A rotating wedding slideshow on a blank wall
*Draped ribbons or tulle in white or the wedding colors

What other ideas do you have for decorating the walls of your wedding reception? Share your tips!

Some couples, especially those with a themed wedding, might like to rent a wedding backdrop decoration to cover the walls. The backdrops could be simple columns with tulle or as elaborate as turning the room into the inside of a country barn.

One thing I think is lovely is draped white tulle that has a spotlight with the wedding color(s) shining up on it. It creates a stunning effect with very little fuss.

A large backdrop could be really pretty, depending on the wedding theme and how the backdrop coordinates with it. I’m thinking of the wall art type of thing you can rent for parties—it would have to be big, of course, but it could be fun. A garden scene, starfield, faux beach, stuff like that would work well for a wedding, but I wouldn’t go with anything too over the top.

Arches are popular too, particularly behind the head table and framing the couple. Just another idea!
