What do you think about same sex dances at a wedding reception (not for the marriage of a gay couple) - something like a “girls only” dance or whatnot. Not that it would be outrageous, but it would be a good time for the bride to have a minute or two with each bridesmaid and her maid of honor, and given how busy the wedding day can be, it might be the only “private” time they have to share thanks and congratulations! Have any weddings you’ve been to done this, or would you consider it for your own? What are your thoughts? |

I don’t have any problems with this. A lot of weddings I attend play the song Girls Just Want to Have Fun and just the females hit the dance floor. Off hand, I can’t think of any “guys-only” songs, but I’m sure there are a few. My friends and I are pretty casual and not too much bothers us, so we even “partner” dance a little bit, too (not to slow songs, mind you, just medium to fast—think about a foot between us, jr. high kids trying to learn to dance style!)—it’s all in fun and we have a good time together. |
