Irish wedding invitations
Would like wording suggestions for a destination in Ireland, and also for the post wedding barbecue. Would like something with the luck of the Irish flavor!

Hi Barb,
A destination wedding in Ireland sounds lovely! I would use an actual Irish phrase about love, either at the top/front of the invitation or at the bottom. This adds an elegant touch to the invites without becoming cheesy or over-the-top. Gaelic-Matters.com has some lovely sayings on their website; I'm particularly partial to the sayings in the "love" section - the first one on the cure for love being marriage is particularly suiting.
As far as wording the invitation, I would use traditional destination wedding invitation wording, similar to the following:
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith
cordially request your presence at the wedding of their daughter,
Sarah Elizabeth Smith,
to William Henry Johnson,
son of Mr. and Mrs. James Johnson
at the Irish Wedding Location, Ireland
on the twenty-fifth of July, two-thousand and twelve
at five o'clock in the evening.
Typically, couples planning a destination wedding send out pre-invitation cards called "save the dates." This alerts their guests of the upcoming wedding destination and date, and allows them time to save money or make travel arrangements. They are usually sent out six months to a year before the wedding, if possible.
The wording for the reception barbeque invitations can be more casual. Consider something like this:
The luck o' the Irish turned to love
when Sarah Smith wed William Johnson
in a ceremony in Irish Wedding Location, Ireland
on Wedding Date.
Please join them in celebrating their happiness
at a casual barbeque at Barbeque Location
on August 15, 2012, at 6:00 p.m.
