Plus size wedding informal attire

I went to a wedding in St. Lucia & the bride was a larger girl & her dress was bathing suit cover combo and looked nice. Where can I find something like that? I'm going crazy online with all the skinny models.

Hi Sheila,

The first thing you'll want to do is locate a swimsuit that you feel comfortable donning for your wedding on the beach. A white swimsuit is more bridal, but if you're not comfortable wearing all white, consider getting something with a pretty print or plain tone in the same color as your bouquet and then wearing a white cover-up. I don't know what size you are, but you can look for plus size swimsuits from a variety of retailers, including Hapari and Just My Size, along with other big retailers like Land's End and JCPenney.

Amazon also has a nice selection of white suits available in a range of sizes. Check out their selection of UjENA suits, including the Cool Cocktail Skirted Bikini (available up to size 2x), the Honeymoon Halter 1-PC (up to size 18) and White Monroe Torso 1-PC (up to size 1x).

As for the cover-up, what are you looking for? A long white sarong can be tied around your waist or even above your bust as a maxi dress. A white tunic or even jersey dress can be pretty cover-ups, too. Here are a few I found online that look pretty and casual for a beach wedding:

Area swim specialty stores may be able to order white suits and cover-ups in white in your size, too. Stop by and browse the options available. As winter turns to spring, you will likely find more options locally when spring break and summer items start appearing in stores.

Good luck with your search!
